On April 18, tenor Ziwen Xiang joins us for an intimate recital devoted to the Italian and French vocal repertoire — a program of lyric refinement, dramatic intensity, and timeless expression.
A frequent collaborator with institutions including the Metropolitan Opera Guild, New York City Opera, and Carnegie Hall, Mr. Xiang brings both international experience and a deeply personal artistic voice. In the close setting of Ressona, his performance unfolds with a rare immediacy — where nuance, text, and tone are felt in their fullest dimension.
The evening will feature works by Tosti, Rossini, Verdi, Puccini, and Massenet, alongside instrumental interludes by Debussy and Mascagni, performed with pianist Tamara Kim.
Recital of enchanting French and German 19th century romantic pieces by chanteuse Artemisia LeFay, her first classical recital in nearly ten years! These gorgeous songs by Viardot, Schumann, and Debussy have birthed such extraordinary, visionary, and heart-centered music into the world, you will particularly enjoy the sensual, sentimental, and fantastical themes of this collection! Joined by pianist Riko Higuma, a sought-after collaborator and chamber musician, also the co-founder of internationally acclaimed and innovative Zodiac Trio.
“Nuit D’Étoiles” will be 4/4 at 4pm (see what we did there?) at the brand new Ressona Concert Hall at 306 West 38th Street on the 17th floor. There is no charge, but we will have a collecting receptacle for those of you who wish to show your appreciation for Artemisia and Riko in the form of tips.
